KCT Editions · Alpine Summer 2027
Seven nights of
Alpine summer.
One beautiful place
to call home.
Lake mornings. Mountain afternoons. Extraordinary kosher hospitality. And a complete week together, without turning the holiday into a tour.

Stay for the week.
This is not an escorted tour. One exceptional Alpine resort becomes home for seven nights — so you live in the place for a week rather than passing through it.
The week
A week with a rhythm,
not a schedule.
-
Morning
- Coffee on the terrace.
- Breakfast without a departure time.
- The lake, already there.
-
Then choose
- Bike. Swim. Walk. Spa.
- Take the children somewhere.
- Head into the mountains.
- Or don’t go anywhere at all.
-
Afternoon
- Back to the resort.
- Pool, lake, a drink, a book.
- Something informal appears from the kitchen.
-
Evening, and later
- Everyone drifts back together.
- Dinner is the gathering point.
- Then tea, dessert, conversation.
Do everything. Do nothing.
Or somewhere in between.
And this is
where you wake up.
The region
The Alps are
outside your door.
On two wheels
Everyone rides.
Nobody rides the same.
- Flat and easy
The lakeside path, and the valley roads beyond it. Children, grandparents, anyone.
- E-bike
The hills, without the suffering. The reason three generations can ride out together at all.
- Properly
Alpine climbs on some of the most beautiful roads in Europe, for whoever wants them.
Bicycles and guided riding are arranged separately for the families who want them.
Lake Bled
Not somewhere we visit.
Somewhere we live.
The path around the lake runs about six kilometres, and the water is a morning in itself. Swimming, rowing, the island church in the middle of it, and a shoreline that becomes ordinary in the best way by Wednesday.
The Julian Alps
Mountains at the end
of the road.
Walks that suit a family and hikes that suit anyone who wants the altitude. Triglav National Park, alpine air, and views that make the drive home quiet.
Vintgar
Water, rock
and forest.
A gorge walked on boardwalks above green water. An hour or two, close to home, and the kind of place children remember for years.
Ljubljana
A European day out,
when you feel like leaving.
One of the most walkable small capitals in Europe — a river running through the middle of it, terraces along both banks, and a market worth an hour.
A menu of possibility, not an itinerary. Private experiences into the region are arranged separately for the families who want them.
This is what Tuesday
can look like.
Not an itinerary, and nothing here is compulsory. Just a day that could happen.
This is where
it stops being
a holiday and starts
being KCT.
The table
The table is still the
reason we travel.
KCT began in the kitchen, and the Edition is being built the same way — breakfast unhurried, a full lunch each day, something unexpected in the afternoon, and dinner à la carte. Alpine ingredients and technique, interpreted through our kosher kitchen.
We are exploring with each property how far its own kitchen will come with us: KCT’s culinary leadership and the house’s chefs working together, with regional producers behind them, under independent external rabbinic kashrut supervision.
Photographed on earlier KCT journeys.
-
Breakfast
Beautiful and leisurely. The one meal nobody should have to be anywhere for.
-
Lunch
A full lunch each day — generous, seasonal and built around where we are.
-
The afternoon popup
Something informal appears later in the day. A snack, a bite, something cold, something unexpected — and gone by evening.
-
Dinner
À la carte each evening. Choose what you want, order as you like, and settle in.
-
Wine & spirits
Good wine, proper cocktails and spirits are part of the table — not an afterthought.
-
Late night
Something worth coming home for.
Who is behind it
Built personally.
Cooked personally.
Hosted personally.
Avicam Gitlin
Founder · Chef · Host
Avicam is developing the Alpine Summer Edition personally and will host the week himself, working closely with KCT’s culinary team on the menus, the kitchen, the kosher operational planning and the hospitality that holds the week together.
Giuseppe
Goat · Culinary Observer · Unsolicited Advisor
Giuseppe has been with KCT in one capacity or another for longer than anyone can reliably establish. His responsibilities include observing the culinary operation, maintaining standards from a safe distance, and looking unsurprised when things become complicated.
Giuseppe is a goat. He may also be fictional.
Behind them is the team KCT assembles for every journey: chefs, service, and a producer on location.
The Edition will operate under independent external rabbinic kashrut supervision, with full supervision details announced before reservations become binding.
Three generations
Together, without spending
every minute together.
- One couple walks the lake before anyone else is up.
- One family takes the bikes out.
- Someone takes the children swimming.
- Someone goes up into the mountains.
- Someone never leaves the terrace.
- Someone disappears with a book until lunch.
Nobody has to negotiate one compulsory itinerary. And then everyone finds each other again, in the only three places that matter: the table, the evening, and Shabbat.
Slow days
Not every day
needs a plan.
The water, the terrace, the garden, a long breakfast, an afternoon that goes nowhere. Staying behind should feel like a good decision, not a missed one.
Shabbat
And then the week
changes pace.
Tables that take all afternoon. Tefillah. Children who find each other by Friday night and are inseparable by Saturday. Adults who slow down because there is genuinely nowhere to be.
After a week in which everybody did their own thing, this is the day the whole Edition turns inward.
Our home for the week
What we are
selecting for.
We are in discussion with a small number of exceptional Alpine lake resorts, in Slovenia and Austria. Nothing is announced until it is contracted — and the Founder families help choose.
- A premium Alpine setting, on or above the water
- Rooms that hold a family comfortably for seven nights
- Connecting rooms and suites for larger families
- Public spaces worth sitting in, indoors and out
- Dining rooms that can carry a KCT culinary programme
- Pool, spa and grounds — the reasons to stay in
- A house that can sustain a week, not just a night
The Founders Circle
A different way to build
a KCT experience.
KCT Editions begins with a small group of Founding Families. Establishing the core group before making the major hotel and production commitments removes much of the uncertainty traditionally built into launching a programme like this.
Founding Families receive the earliest access, the lowest published Edition rate, and a voice in shaping the final experience.
Want the numbers?
Founder pricing begins at
€3,900 per adult + 10% service
For seven nights, based on two adults sharing a standard room.
The complete Founder, Priority and Final Release pricing — including family pricing and how the temporary Program Reserve works — is published separately.

The things families
ask first.
Is this an escorted tour?
No. It is a seven-night Edition based at one resort. There is a shape to the week — meals, Shabbat, the culinary programme, an atmosphere in the evenings — and you join as much or as little of it as suits your family.
Do we have to join every activity?
Nothing is compulsory. Families come and go from the week as they like, and the day everyone stays by the pool is a perfectly good day.
What can we do around the lake?
Swim, row, walk the shoreline, ride — flat paths or serious climbs — hike in the Julian Alps, walk the Vintgar Gorge, drive to a second alpine lake, or spend a day in Ljubljana. We will help arrange private experiences for families who want them; they are not part of the published week.
Is this good for grandparents travelling with married children?
It is designed for exactly that. One base, no daily packing, short distances, and a week where three generations can each have their own day and still eat dinner together.
What about grandchildren?
Children have room, water and space, and the resort is the kind of place where they can be let loose. Room configuration for larger families is part of the conversation, not an afterthought.
What is Shabbat like?
Complete, and the centre of the week — tefillah, tables, long meals, and a resort that goes quiet in the right way. Nowhere anyone needs to be.
Is the hotel confirmed?
Not yet. We are in discussion with a small number of exceptional Alpine lake resorts and the final property is selected with the Founder families. We publish nothing until it is contracted.
Are excursions included?
The published week covers the Edition itself — the stay, the culinary programme and Shabbat. Private experiences into the wider region are arranged separately for the families who want them.
Can we simply stay at the resort all week?
Yes, and some families will. The destination should be beautiful enough that staying behind feels like a good decision.
How do we learn about Founder pricing?
Everything is published: the three release stages, the rates including service, the Program Reserve and the family pricing rules are all on the pricing page.

Could this be your
family’s summer?
A conversation is the right way to find out whether the Edition suits your family — who would be travelling, which dates suit you, and the rooms you would need.
The hotel, the final dates and the details of the week remain subject to Founder input, availability and final contracting. Full written reservation, payment, cancellation and refund terms are provided before a reservation becomes binding.
