The Alps in summer, privately

Cool, green and quiet, with walking, biking, lakes and via ferrata.

An Alpine landscape

Why summer

A chalet is the most self-contained property type we work with. Everyone is under one roof, meals happen at one table and the day ends in the same room it began. In summer the Alps are cool, green and quiet, and the same houses are available for walking, biking, lakes and via ferrata. Chalet kitchens are large, modern and built to feed a full house, so kashering is straightforward.

How a summer stay is produced

  • Large private chalets, typically six to twelve bedrooms
  • Summer mountain estates and lake houses in the foothills
  • Properties with indoor pools, spas and cinema rooms for weather days
  • Trailhead positions in summer
  • Packed mountain lunches and hot food delivered to the trail
  • Supply through Geneva, Zurich, Milan and Strasbourg, with a weekly consolidated run
  • Mashgiach in residence for the full stay where required

Regions and Sukkot

The Swiss Alps, the French Alps, the Dolomites (spectacular and less crowded, with Italian food at altitude), the Austrian Alps and Lake Geneva and the foothills each suit a different kind of summer. Early October is beautiful in the Alps, and a chalet terrace makes a straightforward sukkah. Read the main Alps page, Sukkot abroad and when to go.
