Why here
Budapest has the largest Jewish community remaining in Central Europe, and it shows, a working Jewish quarter with real restaurants and real communal life, not only a memorial district. That living quality changes the texture of a visit considerably.
It is also, simply, a beautiful and comfortable city to spend a few days in: the Danube, the thermal baths, the grand nineteenth-century streets, a genuine city break as much as a heritage trip.
The kosher supply chain here is the most workable of the three Central European cities we cover, which makes Budapest a strong base for a longer regional itinerary as well as a destination in its own right.
