Why here
Vienna is the most workable kosher city in Central Europe, a real community, real kosher supply, and restaurants that do not need to be a compromise. That alone makes it an easier city than Prague or Budapest to build a longer stay around.
It is also, simply, a serious city: the architecture, the music, the coffee houses, and a Jewish history that is complicated and worth engaging with properly rather than skimming.
Because Vienna sits where it does, it is also the natural supply base and gateway for the rest of our Central European work, and a short drive from genuinely beautiful countryside for a family who wants a city and a lake in the same week.

The Innere Stadt
The Ringstrasse, the State Opera, the Hofburg, walkable, and the base for most of a Vienna stay.
Leopoldstadt
The historic Jewish quarter, still home to the working community, its synagogues and its kosher restaurants and shops.

Lake Hallstatt and the surrounding lake district, an easy day trip or a short extension.
The Austrian Alps
Lech, Kitzbühel and the mountain resorts, for a family combining a city stay with a few days at altitude.

Summer
Warm days in Vienna, with the lakes and the Alps close by for swimming, walking and cooler evenings. Our Das Balance Edition takes place on Lake Wörthersee in summer.

Austria offers a city and a lake or mountains in the same week. Vienna has a real and living Jewish community and a workable kosher supply, and the Salzkammergut lakes and the Alps are a short drive away. Vienna is also the natural supply base and gateway for the rest of our Central European work.
