The Mediterranean,
privately
From a coastal villa to a private yacht moving between islands, KCT designs Mediterranean journeys where the accommodations, cuisine, itinerary and kosher experience are produced as one seamless programme.
Why here
The Mediterranean is the region this company was built around, and it is the one where the production model earns its keep most obviously. The properties are extraordinary and the food is extraordinary — and almost none of it is set up for a kosher family arriving with twelve people and a Shabbat to keep.
It is also the only region where land and sea genuinely interchange. A family can take a coastal house for four nights, move aboard for six through the islands, and come back ashore for Shabbat — and if one team is producing all of it, there is no seam. That is the shape of most of our best Mediterranean summers.
Provisioning is the discipline underneath it. Kosher meat, wine and specialty goods are consolidated and shipped ahead; everything else — the fish, the tomatoes, the herbs, the bread — is bought that morning within an hour of where you are sleeping. Which is, after all, the reason to eat in this part of the world.
Where, within it
The regions
worth choosing between.
The Amalfi Coast & Capri
Cliff-set villas, boat days to the Faraglioni, and a logistics problem — narrow roads, limited berths — that rewards being produced rather than booked.
The Cyclades & the Aegean
Anchorages that empty by evening, whitewashed island houses, and the Jewish histories of Rhodes and Ioannina within reach.
The Ionian & Western Greece
Calmer water, greener islands, shorter passages. The best Greek waters for a family with young children aboard.
Dalmatia & Montenegro
Hvar, Korčula, the Kotor bay. Superb sailing, walled towns, and a coastline still less crowded than Italy in August.
Corsica & Sardinia
Wild interiors, exceptional water, and estates with genuine privacy. Strong for groups who want space more than scenery.
The Balearics
Mallorca's Tramuntana estates and Menorca's quieter coves — the most villa-led part of the western Mediterranean.
Sicily
The most interesting food in the region, Greek temples, Etna, and coastal properties well suited to a longer stay.
The Côte d'Azur & Provence
Where a Mediterranean summer meets a proper French kitchen. Also the region with the deepest charter infrastructure.
When it's actually good
June
Warm water, long light, and the coast before it fills. Our preferred month for a first Mediterranean charter.
July & August
Peak. Book nine to twelve months out. Greece and the Adriatic hold up better than the Italian coast for crowding.
September
Arguably the best month of the year — warm sea, thinning crowds, harvest on land. Strong for celebrations.
Sukkot & shoulder
October is excellent in Sicily, the Balearics and southern Italy, and it is when private holiday programmes work best here.
