Why here
A safari is the single hardest kosher operation we run, and also one of the most rewarding. The camps are remote, the kitchens were never built for it, and the nearest kosher supplier is often a continent away. None of that is a reason not to go — it is the reason to produce it properly.
We build the kitchen the camp does not have: dedicated equipment flown or driven in, a chef and mashgiach in residence for the stay, and a provisioning plan that treats the bush as the logistics problem it actually is, weeks before the family arrives.
What guests remember is not the logistics. It is the vehicle at first light, the fire at night, and a Shabbat table set in the middle of it, exactly as it would be at home.

A properly kosher city, a serious Jewish community, and the Cape winelands — the natural bookend to a safari rather than an afterthought.
The Maasai Mara, Kenya
The wildebeest migration in season, and camps remote enough that every kilogram of kosher provisioning is planned before departure, not improvised on arrival.
The Serengeti & Ngorongoro, Tanzania
Extraordinary density of game, longer supply lines than Kenya, and camps we choose partly for how far they are from the nearest airstrip.

The Zambezi and the Okavango Delta, for families extending a safari by water rather than only by vehicle.
When it's actually good
June – October
Dry season across Southern and East Africa. The best game viewing, and the season we recommend for a first safari.
July – September
The wildebeest migration in the Mara and northern Serengeti — the single most requested window, booked far in advance.
December – February
Green season in the south: fewer guests, newborn animals, lower rates, and excellent birding.
Sukkot
Workable in South Africa with the right property; the bush itself does most of the work of a sukkah's open roof.
